villa and superb view

This was our sixth visit to beautiful Kalkan. Villa Guzel certainly did not disappoint, this lovely villa in a perfect location, gave you breathtaking views of Kalkan town. The walk into town was enjoyable and not as steep as some areas, although taxis are always available if you are feeling lazy! The villa itself had a beautiful pool and terrace, two bbq and dining areas, and also a relaxing sofa area for chilling. The upstairs bbq on the bedroom balcony was great for evening dining with the wonderful backdrop of the town at night with all its lights. The inside of the villa had everything you needed and all the bedrooms were very spacious. The cleaning staff visited daily to tidy and make the beds, which was a real treat, and the pool man delivered us fresh warm bread every morning.. What more could you ask for! The restaurants and bars of Kalkan are unique and very friendly, and most are worth a visit, as are the shops and the Thursday market. The boat trips from the picturesque harbour are also a must. Just fabulous. This year we went on Ali's Dream Boat, first class food and service. Looking forward to next year and hopefully return visit to Villa Guzel. Thank you Len and Anne.

A fantastic villa in the perfect location. The property was cleaned on a daily basis as was the pool and garden area. Communication with the owner and local manager was first class and we would certainly return and recommend to family and friends. Spoilt for choice in terms of restaurants and bars, our favourite being the Olive Garden. We were recommended the boat trip organised by Sunset Boats and this was the highlight of the holiday thanks to Captain Yelcinn and first mate Ali.
Villa in a great location.

We booked this Villa as friends of ours have been visiting over the last 10 years and on their recommendation we thought we would try it out and it did not disappoint. The Villa is exactly the same as the picture and the layout and facilities are all exactly as described. The location is high up overlooking Kalkan and it is a 15 minute walk into the town. The views of the mountains and sea are very impressive, and the property is well looked after with cleaners coming in every day to make beds and tidy up, which is a treat, and the pool man came by every morning whilst we were sleeping to water the plants and clean around the pool and also came to check all was OK, later in the day. The water sports activities from Aristos at Indigo Beach Club were great . Try out Cinar Restaurant above Mini Bar ( which is also good ) and the Cocktail Bar with the fancy chairs on the front which is great for people watching. I would have no hesitation in recommending this Villa and Kalkan . TheTurkish people and place are great and the food is varied and excellent.. Sometimes it is a bit of a step into the unknown when you book a Villa but you will have no problems and the owners Len and Anne are fab and nothing is too much trouble. Happy Holidays!

Villa Güzel looked good on the web site and it more than lived up to expectations. What a peaceful location with such lovely views over Kalkan. We liked the nice shaded seated area for reading and sitting under the pergola eating our meals. The pool was very large and our children loved playing on the pool steps. The lounge was very comfortable and the satellite TV great . The WiFi reception was good. We found the Guest Book very useful and the Visitors Book helpful regarding recommended restaurants and particularly the Sunset boat trip which was fantastic. The bedrooms were large light and airy having their own balconies where we often sat and enjoyed a coffee and the views over Kalkan. The upstairs master double had a huge balcony with barbecue and table for six with lovely views over Kalkan .We enjoyed eating there one evening and seeing Kalkan night lights and the sunset but we used the terrace barbecue more frequently. Hakan was helpful and his cleaners and pool man were very likeable and good. It’s about a twelve minute steep downhill walk into Kalkan, we preferred to have a taxi back as they only cost about 15 lira. There were many excellent restaurants and we found the food exceptionally good and particularly enjoyed the Turkish Angora wine . In all we had a lovely holiday in Kalkan at Villa Guzel and would certainly recommend it. Our family are looking forward to returning next year.

Absolutely loved villa guzel and Kalkan. The views from the villa are fabulous and the two balconies both look over the mountains and harbour. Villa is a short walk into old town Kalkan and the harbour, but taxis are also very cheap so we used them when feeling lazy! The villa is well managed locally with regular cleaning. We loved our daily visit to check everything was ok - it always was. The pool is a great size and nice a cool (June time). Lots of facilities in the villa and found the owners wonderful to deal with - they made everything so easy and even emailed us whilst we were there to check we were having fun. Kalkan itself is beautiful. Lots of bars and restaurants - we are in love and already planning a return visit next year. Thanks again Anne and Len - we'll definitely be back!
villa, well appointed, and well located

We had an amazing honeymoon in Villa Guzel, the perfect ending to our wedding celebrations. The villa more than lived up to our expectations; it was immaculate, well-located, secluded and so spacious that the 2 of us often lost each other! Two lovely balconies for watching the sunrise and sunset over breakfast or an evening bottle of wine, a short walk to bustling Kalkan with its 300 restaurants and shops providing good quality handbags and clothing – of course we had to go shopping! We were well looked after by Hakan, the agent, and Martin who cleaned the pool daily; the villa was also cleaned by discreet cleaners every day. Len, the owner was very helpful from the booking to the prompt return of the deposit. We would thoroughly recommend this villa as it a slow amble to the town – often accompanied by friendly dogs who escort you to the next dog patrol – amazing! We even saw a tortoise on our climb down the secret steps. Like many others who visit Turkey we have fallen in love with the Turkish cuisine and were spoilt for choice by the romantic restaurants with roof top terraces (Olive Garden) or the Turkish style seating on the floor (Belgins), together with our favourite kebab restaurants which were very good value (Hunkars). We visited the legendary Patara beach (why did we go all the way to Cuba last year when this was nearer?) and left the words “Just Married” all over the sandy beach, made by our flip flops, a wedding present from friends. We would like to return one day with our “Still Married” flip flops! I was in tears when I left as it had been such a wonderful holiday.

We stayed in Villa Guzel in 2010 & just had to return as we loved it so much. Such a lovely villa & location . We love the extension of the patio including the BBQ & new shaded seating area & the minor additions, the WIFI Internet & the iced / hot water unit & the fact the hot water could be isolated as our 2 year old daughter loves switches. We were surprised how many of the restaurant staff remembered us & the food is still amazing but we found had increased in price, but of course so had the exchange rate to our benefit. We keep telling our friends how wonderful Kalkan is, but perhaps we should keep it our secret. We looked up your Availability Chart for 2013 & was not surprised to see how many booking you already have. We will return.

This was the perfect vacation property. The house was amazing - especially the pool area. The locations was perfect - not too close to the town center, but not too far that you felt isolated. It was about a five minute drive into town. There are plenty of places to eat and the food is spectacular. There is a beach club that is attached to one of the hotels that you can rent a sun bed and have drinks, food and swim for a very good price. I have rented properties in Cesme and Bodrum, but this house by far was the best. And I absolutely loved Kalkan. We hired a sailboat to take us around for the day - and it was at a very good price. We also hired a boat to take us around to some of the historical sites. Both were very good value. There is nothing like diving off a boat into the sea. The house was cleaned daily. Len arranged for our airport transfers, which was very reasonable and comfortable. Dalaman airport is approximately 2 hours away from Kalkan. All in all this was a memorable holiday - and thanks for the use of your lovely home.

We had a wonderful time at Guzel, the villa was lovely. The Villa is ideal for quiet peaceful holidays, and is not too far from the town centre, with lots of Restaurants and shops.. The pool is great, not too small and the Air Conditioning is ideal for the really hot days.

Len, thank you for the use of your superb villa, we all had a fantastic time. We were all very impressed with your villa, by far the best we have ever stayed at. We were also impressed by the maid service each day, very efficient, yet never intrusive. The pool was an absolute joy and very refreshing under glorious sunshine from early morning and throughout the day. Thank you once again and hope we can return in the future.

Had a great time at Villa Guzel, everything you need for a relaxing holiday, superb views across the bay, far enough out of the town for quiet days by the pool but close enough to wander down of an evening. Pool is a great size for swimming and also unlike many other pools in turkey can accomodate non swimmers due to it's stepped area. Hope to return next year.

Villa Guzel is absolutely stunning, the photos on the website do not do the villa justice. We were a group of three couples and found the design perfect, the spiral staircase separating the bedrooms and providing discreet privacy. We particularly liked the cream stone walls and marble flooring and the large lounge and bedrooms which are delightful and tastefully furnished. The views from the villa over Kalkan are beautiful and sitting on the main balcony enjoying either a tipple prior to going out for a meal (or using the bbq), watching the sunset and when dark seeing Kalkan all lit up was magical. The villa must have one of the largest of pools, large steps provide seating in the water, but the pool is one depth which apparantly is the norm in Kalkan which was fine by us, but for small children and non swimmers might prove a problem. The pool was cleaned daily by Murtin, he even washed down the terrace after watering the garden. Your newly planted banana and peach trees are doing fine and when we come next year, which we certainly will (a common view expressed in your visitors book) we hope to pick the fruit. We found Hakan, your agent, discreetly kept an eye on things, saying he was only a phone call away, which proved the case when we needed him. We have been to Kalkan before, our friends hadn't, they thought the locals, restaurants, food, village shops, everything, absolutely wonderful. We read the Villa Guzel guide and the visitors book for valuable information. Lastly, I have to mention Len, you are a star, you were so helpful (and professional) with our email and phone enquiries. The information you gave us was so useful. Thank you on behalf of us all.

For the past ten years I have taken an all "girl" holiday with three old school friends, we try to visit somewhere different each year however Kalkan proved to be well worth returning too. . We were welcomed at the airport and transported to the Villa with minimum fuss and once inside we knew the whole experience was going to be fabulous! Well appointed and beautifully furnished the Villa is probably the best venue yet! The town itself is a delight with lovely shops and restaurants and only a short walk from Villa Guzel. We enjoyed boat and bus trips but favourite days were spent by the pool at the Villa anticipating delicious dinner in town. Wonderful.

Well what can I say Len and his wife made our booking seemless and the Villa is fantastic. Location is a short walk to the town but far enough away to be peaceful. Kalkan is just amazing. So if you are looking for a more up market holiday this is the place to be. My wife and I enjoyed it so much last time that we will be going out again this year. Highly recommended. Thanks again for a great stay.
